Submit – Who and how

Who can submit?

The Ecotone uses a three tier model when assessing submissions, assuming a higher number of submissions will represent the first tier, with added representation from tiers two and three:

Tier One: UO graduate students and advanced undergraduates in any program or department, as well as UO faculty and staff.

Tier Two: Graduate students from other universities who do work centered on the environment and culture.

Tier Three: Local and regional community members, including but not limited to activists, community organizers, and environmentally-involved community members.

Submission process

Judging is done through blind, anonymous voting by the editorial staff. Members of the editorial staff are permitted to submit entries for publication but are excluded from winning money in any contest.

There is no reading fee for The Ecotone.

By submitting to The Ecotone you affirm that the work attached is solely your own. You agree to abide by The Ecotone’s requirements governing submissions.  If your work is accepted for publication, The Ecotone has the right to publish and distribute your work on our website.

You will retain all subsequent rights to you work.
